Calorie Counter 2.0

One more thing you have to worry about

Self motivation is a quality that can get one far, no matter in what field. Fitness and well being is definitely one which requires quite a lot of self empowerment. If not for doing the required routines then abstaining from those high calorie foods we seem to love so much.

Keeping tabs on what you eat is probably a good way to make sure you don't go overboard; And since mobile devices can be used for almost anything data related, it is only natural to find a plethora of dedicated apps. Calorie Counter has the distinct advantage of its title. Do not confuse it with the entire category.

Calorie Counter

After creating an account and deciding on a goal (weight loss and the allocated time) you can add in meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack. Adding in food is somewhat difficult if you're not sold on junk or packaged food. The easiest ways to do it is either by reading the barcode with the included scanner or by selecting the fast food item from the included database. Alternatively, or if you need to add in a salad and whatnot, you will be able to create a custom item, complete with nutritional facts.

You can also add in exercises for the day. Unlike the meals, there are plenty of activities to chose from. Calculating a good estimate is guaranteed, especially since you can chose from popular fitness DVD programs.

There is more to Calorie Counter. Besides motivational quotes, it contains a recipe book (too bad that there's no connection with the meal feature) and a dining guide (which is essentially the fast food menu you were reading about earlier). There are also some fitness and recipe articles along with a community section, which doesn't seem to fetch the data.

Calorie Counter

Features

  • Meal recorder
  • Exercise recorder
  • Journal and progress reports
  • Recipes
  • Dining guide

Pros

  • Quite useful for estimating how taxing your next fast food session will be. This is a good deterrent.

Cons

  • It is hard to collect data for healthy food.

Conclusion

Calorie Counter has some problems with accessibility but otherwise is a good tool for weight watching and goal setting. Of course, people can also chose to simply stop eating cakes, meat and dairy while doing some juice or water fasts on a regular basis. Alternatively they can start urine therapy and become the healthiest they have ever been. But to each its own.
